Hello all
I am looking for info on a crossover network and tweeter match for a dynaudio 17w75 woofer. I bought a new unit from dynaudio but cant use it in the cabint it came stock with. based on what i can find on line is needs a 15 lilter box. All I want to do is build a small bookshelf speaker for near field listenings ie. bedroom.
thanks mark

By the way, the Esotec D260 tweeter was sometimes used in place of the D28 without necessitating a change in the crossover but new old stock Esotec tweeters are fairly pricey, not to mention very hard to find. It will be difficult enough to find a pair of Dynaudio D28 tweeters. There was also the kit Twynns, used the D260 tweeter and a pair of the 17Ws but it's a tall cabinet.
If you can't find a set of Dynaudio tweeters the closest to their design would be the Morel's such as the MDT 30.
The link to the small 2-way Foccus schematic and cabinet plans are;

Hope this helps.
Think the Focus used the 4ohm version, they used to have another one with the 8 and the XL. I'll see if I can dig up the old plans for those units.
Funny thing was that although many Dynaudio drivers were suited/designed for "first order", they can have fairly complex, high part count crossovers.
Still, the problem will be finding a suitable tweeter if the OP does not have a set of Dynaudio or Morels.
If he goes with something new say Scan-Speak that will necessitate a new crossover. I had the impression he was looking for a simple and straight forward kit design, not really wishing to engineer a new 2-way system from scratch.
Agree completely with you approach and suggestion on the Morel as Dyn replacement. Actually found a xover on web that used both the Dyn 17w75 and Morel D32, but have no experience with it so hard to recommend.
Forgot to add that. Those who have replaced Dynaudio tweeters with Morels sometimes found them to be slightly more efficient hence the need to pad them down a decibel or so; unit to unit variation and all.
Check with Madisound. They may have some designs archived for a crossover. They would also be able to recommend a suitable tweeter.
