In my opinion, if you use cables made of pure copper, well terminated and thick enough for their length, you obtain an excellent sound.
Anything more exotic / more expensive will give you only very small improvements (or sometimes degradations...), and I prefer to spend money on better electronic or better speakers.

Belgarchi, what pure copper wire do you use?

I agree completely with Belgarchi, same applies to power cords another rip-off product.
I agree completely with Belgarchi
I know how to pick an extension for using a particular circular saw 80 feet from the electrical source...but I have not idea how to figure out what gauge of pure copper is needed for a 10' run from amp to speaker.
Jim
My subjective rule og thumb:
- Up to 8', 16 awg or better
- 8' to 16', 14 awg or better
- 16' to 24', 12 awg or better
Yves
In principle I would like to believe your statements.
Unfortunately, I went to thick copper well terminated cables (that did sound better than thin well terminated cables) but I then went to garden hose thick cables with magical network boxes on them and they sounded even better (and worth the additional money).
