I have good opportuity to buy Accuphase E550. Has anybody tried it with Dynaudio C1? Does it have enough power to drive the speakers?
Follow Ups:
But it really depends upon the size of your room, how it is tuned, and the intended listening distance.
In any case, I suggest you purchase the E-550, as it is one of the best amps ever made (I have one), being better than the speakers you intend to use with it (but they are certainly suitable).
But I don't think it'll make them sing properly though. The last time I auditioned them it was driven by the all Ayre reference system such as the MXR power amp and the KXR pre amp. Driven by Ayre system, the speakers made the room disappear, I was very impressed with them considering their size and all.

Why not ask Jim Austin. It's not the easiest electrical load and he reviewed it with much higher powered amps. JA's impedance/phase measurement comment was that it would work best with tubes from the 4 Ohm taps, but I think you'd still need more tube power than average. It will also depend on how "complex" the music is that you listen to. Yes, I'd try to contact Jim Austin.
