I drive mine with a McIntosh MC7200 200 wpc ss amp. 24 - 24K with an outstanding overall presentation. Very well balanced in the right room. If you can get them out into the room away from that short wall, they will work well. Gershman recommends 3-6 feet out. Mine are about 32" out. None on Audiogon at this time.
I haven't heard this myself, but from reading the reviews below I believe they might fit what your sonic requirements for clarity are. The reviewers seem to have heard the clarity trait you're looking for and they all thought at $6K these speakers were a good deal so at this place's store demos price of $2995pr the should be a steal!Of course I suggest reading the reviews and "if" you're interested after that I'd call the store Hollywood Sound in Hollywood, Fla to ask more specific questions. Here's a three reviews ---{ and there's more on the internet }--- to help you decide for yourself:

have you heard Zu's ?? The Superfly sure tripped my trigger at RMAF. I've never been a fan of high efficency, but that has changed. You should give them a listen.
If you don't care for them check out Harbeth or JMReynaud, especially if midrange and clarity is your desire. Not floorstanders, but worth the extra effort.
I have never heard Zu speakers. They do say at their website that digital amps will work with them.
I saw Cary and assumed tubes.....sorry about that!
Still nice stuff!

.
These will work real fine for you and give you Clarity clarity clarity
I think what you mean is accurate midrange and these have it
Try some of the bigger Silverline speakers. I've got the Sonata 3s, which aren't made any more. Clear, refined, with bass down to the mid 20s. Very tube friendly too. I don't know how often they go on the used market, but I suspect they don't stay there long.
Jack
both give solid bass to around 30, and great soundstaging and transparency.
You can get a new and very fine floorstander that meets you requirements from PSB.
