I have used Klipsch kg 0.5s and kg 2.2's with my Marantz 2215b and I have been extremely pleased with the results. Easy to drive, nice sound, reasonable price. Found mine on ebay. How are the Grado 225's? I use Grado SR80s and they are great IMHO.

Thanks for the suggestions. The sr-225s are sweet. Great for rock, which I listen to mostly, especially paired with the marantz. I had a pair of cheaper sennheisers and some shure "noise-cancelling" ear-buds for my ipod that I don't think I'll ever listen to again! There's just something about the Grado sound that I love...
I like the Grado phones a lot and mine are a step down from yours. I got mine after good experience with their cartridges. If you go Klipsch the kgs are used and can usually be found for $50-$120 on ebay depending on the model. The kgs are rubber surrounds so there's no issue with refoaming. I was just listening to the 2215 with the 2.2s with some hard driving r&r and this combination really rocks. Good luck with your quest. Whatever you decide will work out well.
currently in my bedroom i have klipsch kg 4's and a marantz 2218. sounds good.
