Hello jonbee
I bought a pair of the RM 30c's last year and have never before or since heard a more detailed loudspeaker. Frightening detail! My room is very bright however and the nature of these speakers did not blend well with the acoustics. I also found myself turning the volume up too loud as they seemed so crystal clear and sounded their best at the higher level. The bass was fantastic at the higher volume, quick tuneful and highly dynamic. I remember going to bed several evenings with that familiar "swishing" in my ears that I have noticed years past when attending loud concerts ( not good ).
I did not try the waveguides but I wish I had.
Given my room acoustics ( and size ) and my tendency to like a warmer flavor I sold them local to a very happy buyer who has been enjoying them ever since.
I would like to compare notes off the board so email me if you should be inclined.
Thanks

Follow Ups:
Trebles are considerably smoother (and like the mids, evenly dispersed 180 degrees) on the RM 30 with the constant directivity (CD)waveguides. The passive CD EQ crossover that comes with it (either outboard or internal) compensates for the rolloff you would otherwise hear in the upper mids and trebles due to the spreading of acoustic energy over such a wide angle.
