A dealer near me has a few interesting used speakers:
Acoustat Spectra 22 $900

Alon One $650Comments on these? I can only afford one, maybe two upgrades this year and I think speakers are first on the list, then my preamp.
I've owned planars in the past and enjoyed them (Maggies). I've heard Acoustats and was impressed, the trade off being no kick factor.. other suggestions in the $1000 < price range are welcome.
i am a happy owner of acoustat model one i got them for $400.00 because they do not had the woofer, i have matted them with a sunfire true sub and they bring all my rock to life, they are excellent for jazz and classical so if you want the ones try to push lower than that ( remeber that acoustat are no longer in bussiness).
