There is a debate between SS and tubes. But I doubt anyone would say that runnning a SS 200 WPC amp into a pair of very efficient Klipsch Speakers would sound good. YOu only need a couple of good tube watts into these speakers. They would not be my taste with your amp either!

The guy that I bought the speakers from is Klipsch fan of old with five pairs of them. His HT setup has three Heresy across the front with a pair of KHorns in the rear. He was using a five channel Sherborne on a Sherwood HT receiver. The sound was excellent. The KHorn did have a completely new xover design that allows for step down the squaker output. The irritation in my ears is from the squaker. My Legacy amps operate in class A for the first 20 or so watts. I thought the greater speaker senstivity would allow me to run in class A and be satisfied with the volume. While these amps are not top notch, I read where many reviewers of the Cornwalls were completely satisfied using crappy receivers.

Many years ago I ran Klipsch LaScalas with a Dyna 400 and the sound was very good. I've recently heard JBL Pro and ServoDrive horn systems in homes powered by QSC SS prosound amps, the systems sounded very good. I've heard horns sounding good powered by TriPath digital amps and by gaincard clones. From 500hz down my Altec A5s are SS powered and the sound is good.Long before the enthusiasms of the SETers came along traditional hornies were happily running horns with a variety of tube and SS amps. This recent new orthodoxy that "horns must be used with tubes" is a bunch of bullshit.

That orthodoxy should read:Horns can be used with SOME solid state, but not all of it.
YMMV.
That's a reasonable statement.
