Take a look at the sellers other items and read the part about buy it now for 2000usd and free shipping of course..LOL
This is clearly a hijacked account..We need to alert Ebay over this and I may need help to do it.

That way the damage is done before the hijackee knows it.
All you have to do is E-mail the seller thru E-Bay's contact seller button and let him know. It happened to me, I was alerted, went to my acct and saw dozens of auctions of hi end gear on my acct. I then contacted E-Bay and they took the auctions down.
I'd love to know, so I can take necessary precautions.
I had mine hijacked in 2008 when traveling in China, and I logged on eBay to bid. HTTPS apparently was not secure enough - - someone was tapping the backbone of the network at the business I was visiting. I was alerted by eBay withing about an hour, which impressed the hell out of me!
I learned to not access anything sensitive while in China!
Mind you, I had only listed it that day and no bids were up yet. His Email mirrored an E-mail you would have gotten thru the E-Bay "contact the seller" E_mail system. There was a "log into your account" button. I entered user name and password like a complete moron, the rest was history. Later in the day I get another E-mail saying my acct had been hacked and dozens of 24 hour, hi end stereo gear auctions, were up under my name. It was sent by a concerned buyer who smelled a rat. E-Bay got rid of them. However, next time I checked into my Paypal aact, it had been drained (only $140, but still...._)

I had my paypal hacked once and the Ebay twice..Paypal caught it and I had to go my bank and stop payment on 5600 dollars worth of transactions charged to my bank..I didn't pay for stop payment fees but I dread to think what would happen if they were able to complete it.
Anyway, the way you stop it from happening to is to buy an Apple computer. That is the only way you will stop it because they don't have an open system.
My email was even hacked a few times but not related to Ebay and it would send out spam emails and Charter would shut me down until I ran a special program each time...I switched to Mac computers and I never had another issue with any of this crap.
It ticks you off because you know that a few people can fall for it.
What I did to a guy a few years ago was this.He had an Mc275 for sale for 1900 BIN and free shipping of course. The item was listed in Ohio and I emailed the guy off ebay because he had his email listed like this last idiot did..Anyway,I told him I could pick it up and bring him cash because I don't live that far from Ohio.He had written me back and told me that there was a mistake in the add and that the amplifier is actually in England, being he was over there on business..He told me I could put the money in escrow to some fly by night company he had named and when I opened the box to inspect it to my satisfaction,I could then release the funds to him..I then traced his email to some place in Nevada, and being I didn't know exactly where it was, I told him that I was really a federal fraud investigator and that a Nevada State trooper would be over to pick him up for questioning..He didn't answer me back but within 20 minutes all his auctions were pulled.
...You alert eBay and let "us" know how it goes.
Thanks
:)
I need support on this one.The more they know people are on to it,the faster they will act..I know this from experience. You should alert them to before some poor schmuck gets taken in.
I just tried to call and they are closed.
... Hey, presto!
Looks like you achieved your goal all by your lonesome.
Amazing!
Next time, don't doubt your own abilities!
:)
Some poor Yank stood a chance of getting ripped off and just think how you would have felt had that happened. You wouldn't have been able to live with yourself Soxes.
Some people like second order distortion in their tube amps, some people like honesty in their tube amps. I like honest!
Hate to be cruel but it takes two for a scam to work.
Everyone is looking for a deal and there is nothing wrong with that. But the poor schmuck that falls for this type of scam deserves what they get IMO.
This same scam artist is listing an ARC REF2 preamp for the same $2K price. I would love to score this preamp for $2K. I know better. They are worth far more than $2K and it is obvious this is a scam. The same scam artist has all kinds of high dollar ARC gear for a mere $2K.
Greed is what makes the scam work. The individual that falls for the scam has placed greed above common sense. As the old saying goes if it sounds too good too be true that is because it is too good too be true.
At least the scam artists on eBay are more sophisticated about it than the scam artists on Audiogon hi-jacking a legit eBay account. The Agon scammers just set-up a new account, overseas naturally, zero feedback and insanely low prices.
BTW I had the opportunity to buy a pair of ARC REF300 on eBay last summer for a mere $4.2K. Second chance offer since the winning bidder at $4.6K did not go through with the sale. Wonder why? Amps were located in Spain. Just a quick check of the sellers feedback showed no high dollar sales of any kind, all previous auctions were in the $100 or less range, no high end audio of any kind, and now suddenly a beautiful pair of REF300 for cheap. Hmmmmm............ I bid on this auction just to have some fun knowing it was a scam. Several days later I got the email alert from eBay.
He also had a beautiful pair of K-horns,the expensive teak wood ones of course and an MC275 with original KT88 Gold Lions, anything you wanted,2000 dollars with free shipping.
is not as high as yours, demonstratively.
roger wang.
Maybe the alert worked.
