You're not going to give her positive no matter what? You bought a 70s item and it has issues after being shipped, this is commonplace.
You can either return it and give her a chance to refund you, or you can make an offer against parts, and so long as she's polite and fair with you, you have no complaint and should leave positive feedback. If she fails, THEN it's negative feedback.
She might have known it wasn't going to work.... but you'll never know that, so why assume it's her, and not rattling from shipping?
Bass is supposed to sound big. 6.5" is not a woofer size.

I once shipped an amp (Mark Levinson 332) that was double boxed inside two double-thick cardboard boxes, and surrounded by 4 inches of molded foam on all sides. Fedex dropped it, and the force of the impact was so great that it snapped the main output board in half, and bent a solid steel bolt that was used to attach one of the feet to the bottom of the amp. No damge to the outer box, and the amp's casing itself was still flawless.

What's the seller's Ebay ID? She seems to be an honest seller and I'd like to keep her ID handy... I might even buy something from her based on your story.
I already had said I was not going to post her id just in case she is really innocent as a matter of giving her benefit of doubt.

....but unlike your case above, the power transformer was not broken, in fact, nothing was physically broken. So your analogy above doesn't appy to my case. Nothing is broken, it just doesn't power on.
Btw. Why don't you show your id so that I can avoid bidding for what you have for sale? This way, we both can save potential headaches.

........yes, she did, and it was DOA, and that's why I have the right to judge her just as anyone can judge me if I sold something by claiming fully tested and working, and turns DOA.

The deck could have been fine she tested it, it just got damaged somehow during transit

it is not going to get 'lost' intransit if you have it tracked and it's already damaged/DOA. Send it back and get refunded, if it bothers you that you feel she was knowingly sold you something DOA then I think you have to give her the benefit of the doubt and then just don't leave a feedback.

+2 you are being unreasonable. She offered to make you whole and deserves nothing less than positive feedback. It's a trivial amount of money considering she paid for shipping. I suggest a little perspective.

You have no way of knowing if she is lying. You asked for opinions. You are free to accept or reject any and all that are offered.

I did, and your reasoning behind your opinion is flawed in that you believe she deserves nothing but positive feedback simply on the virtue of the fact that I have no way of knowing whether she intnetionally sold me doa as fully tested and working and she is offering to reimburse my purchase price and shipping.........but......

I agree on the rattling part, when it comes to transport, that's why I said I am willing to give benefit of doubt when it comes to transport. Actually I 'forgave' 4 different sellers over the last 5 years when it came to transport not working as they claimed. I didn't even make an issue out of it.

I disagree on this one. Rattling can damage glass part of the outer shell very easily. I've had one BC8004, 2 BC5000s damaged due to rattling, and no, I didn't blame the seller on those.
