(cross-post from Vinyl):
So I just sold my first item on the 'Bay and got one bid (and it's not an $10 item). Turned out (now that the auction is over) to have been from these people -
http://www.bidbuy.co.jp/
I thought I was selling to an individual... and the fact that I just found this while trying to turn up info about them is not particularly reassuring:
"don't use this company they are not honest and swindel all they can out of you. worse then carnies at a state fair"
Does any of you know what this is? Japanese operation with a US shipping address... I already have my payment but I don't want to risk sending the item out and then having them pull a Paypal Buyer Protection or something like that on me.
Anyone?
I'd appreciate any comments, thanks in advance.

Hi, I sold an item to these people on ebay. They paid for basic airmail postage then asked me to send item with a tracking number. I emailed them back and explained that international signed for service or airmail with tracking was considerably more than what they had already paid so I asked what they wanted to do. I did not receive a reply and I have emailed then repeatedly since 1st March asking what they want to do about postage. I have not received a reply from them. Yesterday I got email from paypal saying bidbuy have opened a dispute against me, I have sent copies of the emails I sent bidbuy to paypal, however when I clicked on the 'comments' in my dispute I see that bidbuy have sent paypal a copy of an email they say they sent me-NOT TRUE!
what are these guys up to ?
I decided to research these people and I'm horrified to read the comments on merchantcircle.com
I'd like to know how your transaction with them panned out ?
If you have the money, and the shipping address is confirmed by Paypal, make sure you send it out using UPS or Fedex (for reliable tracking) and REQUIRE A SIGNATURE ON DELIVERY. This ensures you are covered by Paypal's seller protection.
For further safety and peace of mind, document the packing with pictures, showing that the item you sold is indeed the item being boxed up. Make sure there is plenty of packing, and insure the package for the full amount of the transaction.
If you do all this, you'll have your bases covered.
However... if the address is not confirmed by Paypal... DO NOT SHIP. Refund the money and inform the buyer he may re-submit the payment once the shipping address is confirmed by Paypal.
you say that you already have your payment. it that via PayPal or is it a check? If you are worried that they may try to get the money back you first have to find out what their process would be, then try to head them off at the pass.
