with power transformers especially,you are dampening electromagnetic resonances that could rob transfer efficiency.There are no doubt unanswered questions dealing with what happens when you put these bricks on but I will try it this weekend on one of my EI amps to see what different measurements I get.

Mike, anyone ever line the chassis with sound deadening material? Like Dynamat. This stuff REALLY works well in cars. Esp when installing audio systems. Day-&-night difference.
Under all my transformers, power and output. Like Chicken Soup, it couldn't hurt.
Rubber roofing underlay works well and you can get a whole 48" wide roll for the price of a few sheets of Dynamat

I just put dive lead on the chassis 5 bags of 2 kg each
Its soft lead (pellets in a bag)
And i got Not even a small difference in sound !
But of coarse my amp is not good enough to let it hear
I say it allready dr lowmu :-)
