I know Jeff personally and own 3 of his amps including the 45.EdT is exactly right. The Galante amp is in fact Jeff's amp. This is the similar to the amp Peter Breuniger wrote up for Listener last year.
I have trotted Jeff's amp around to other peoples systems and it always out performed whatever was there. Absolutely the best I've heard. The price is @1500. A real deal.
The picture posted in another response is an older model, he has made some revisions. I encourage you to call him at 412-486-9135!
Jeff's preference is always for the vintage iron (chokes and OT's), but the availability isn't always there. When vintage is not available he'll go with Electroprint based on his own listening tests. The Magnequest's were requested by a particular customer (Galante).A great thing about working with Jeff is that if you have a preference for components he'll work with you.

This IMO is a bad idea. A PP output will give substandard results when used single ended.

I was too hasty in my earlier post about the iron.I talked with Jeff. He is now firmly in the new SE OT camp, including Magnequest, Lundahl, Plitron and Electroprint. Evidently he had a pair of Sansuis that measured with wide differences in inductance and he's moved on.
Also, his circuit has evolved quite a bit beyond Eric's, even beyond his own earlier variations.
Many people happen to like Electraprint!!! Higher cost isn't always indicative of better sound. Just my opinion.
Oops!! Can't believe I just did that!!
Hi Sherwin: thought I recognized your name in the mail button when I hit the author's title. How are you! Hey, what makes the world go round is that their are lots of really cool choices for folks. Have fun.MSL
Can you tell us something about the circuit. Is it just the simple 45 circuit that Eric B. did in GA many moons ago.Bob
Jeff's circuit it is based on Eric's but there are some slight deviations. Unfortunately I don't know the details.I'll see if I can't find out what the "deviations" are from Jeff.
The amps really look great and the comments (however brief) have all been more than positive. Do you have a copy of the Listener review you could fax or email??Regards,
Jeff
So delectable...
...and you know, I can't see myself aspiring to anything else much (that I can afford) in the near future. Just a few more weeks... I hope I can still afford them then.

.oO AUM Oo.
Each one is custom made, so each one looks a little different
depending on the components availbility. I have some pictures
of his 45 amps if you are interested (send me mail).Just a note, I accidentally came across enjoythemusic.com, and
inside the CES show report section, I spotted a "Galante Audio 45"
that I believe is from Jeff Korneff (identical chassis and layout).
The price is more expensive (as expected).Having said that, I am not sure if Jeff still makes and sells his
own amps. He used to sell his 45 amps for around $1.5K
"Galante Audio 45" is from Jeff Korneff and most likely will have some modification asethetically, which was confirmed over the phone. Jeff still sells his amp directly but the price will go up to around $2K which will be good till the end of January, $2K or above after that, mainly due to the different (modern) parts used. Would you send me a picture of yours? I'm curious how they differ from mine. Many thanks.

There is another one on sale in Audiogon for US$2000. Any comment? Too expensive?
Agree with what "tubeaholic" suggested -- I'd go for a new one costing similar or less? People are entitled to asking for certain price, but I guess the recent increased pricing in used market might have something to do with the retail that Galante Audio suggested. No offense, just a guess.
You can get a new, identical amp cheaper directly from Jeff.

Saw one go on AudiogoN for @ $975; seemed a great deal,
and a deal that did not last long as I missed it as well.
Gone the first day.I think Milkman Dan got it...bastard.

Thanks for the pic ... you are definitely one of the most "out there" people that post on this site and I ALWAYS enjoy reading what you have to say, not to even mention your cartoons. If Milkman Dan did purchase the amp, I am sure he will be selling it soon enough to pay for an abortion for that babe Nancy. They've definitely got something going between the two of them.
