FM,>>>Hey Steven, you should try to hear a low power 211 amp.Like in the 2-3 watt range.Sometimes some tubes will sound better running at a lower voltage than normaly suggested IMHO. <<<
Who makes such a unit??? i seem to find 211-equipped units saying they provide 20-50wpc. Have your tried a type-45 tube amplifier?
Enjoy the music,

Hello Steven.I built a direct coupled 45 amp last year.Sounds very good!I've run RCA ST 45's and Sovtek 2A3's at operating points recommended for the 45 and it sounds great.I slighty prefer the Sovteks 2A3's over the RCA 45's.The Sovteks to me sound lean and thin in my amp when run for more power but they fill out nicely when they run at 45 recommended points.I still lean towards the 300B when it comes down to my fav tube.
