Attached please find the schematic for the Ming Da MC3008-A. this is the latest version using the 2A3 as a driver for the 805. It is the same for the previous version using the 300B as the driver. I also have the schematic for the original version using the 6L6 as the driver though i don't think this made it to export. please email me if you need it. i obtained these directly from the factory.

Also did you try some mods to this amplifier, many say that it can sound fantastic after some modes to the circuit.

the two right-most valves are presumably the 2a3 and the 805. what are the other valves in the gain stages?

Do you know if the Ming Da MC3008-A,s are capable to drive a Martin Logan CLS Iiz electrostatics without any issue.

Your speakers require a minimum of 80 Watts to play loud enough.
86 db efficiency and very low impedance = no good with SET amps.

I suggest that you look for a good 100 to 200W solid state amp with plenty of output current capability.

I already have an ARC D200 Solid State but with tube-like sound, its 110W at 8 omhs and 200W at 4 ohms per channel.
I'm considering getting a used AR 100.2 (the improved version of the D200).
Another possibility is the InnerSound ESL-300, but is not going to sound like tube.
It will be a blind purchase on Audiogon.
Can you give me an advice?

I have auditioned a few great SS amplifiers lately, though none of your candidates:
BAT VK600
Electrocompaniet Nemo
Electrocompaneit AW-180 (it actually delivers 200WPC) I own a pair
McIntosh Mc501 and Mc402 (I used to own one and miss my Mc402).
The latest Mac product is the Mc450, an upgraded Mc402. I believe that many Mc402s will show up on Agon.
Mac muscle amps have a great advantage regarding driving " difficult" loads: their autotransformer with 2, 4, 8 and 16 ohms outputs.
All the above sound very musical and close to tube amps, IMHO.

actually the latest version uses the 2A3C which is what their site says. I also have several of their amps (I live in Shanghai) and deal with them often as we make hi sensativity speakers (100db) and use many different amps to voice them.
Regardless, biasing would be the same for the 805.
I see - thanks. What's your opinion of the 3008-A monoblocks? Do they provide that SET "magic"? Is the 2A3 version better than the 300B version? Thanks for the schematic. I wanted it to see if I could have them upgraded with better parts and wire.
I was also considering the MC-34 AB integrated with the seperate power supply. Which do you like better between the two? There's no place in the Eastern USA where you can listen to them.

I can only give you some genereal observations and opinions of my personal experience with them. I am not affiliated with them in any way and we use many other fine amplifiers in our product dev. The build quality is some of the best i have seen at any price. They try very hard to use high quality pieces (Mundorf, Rubbycon, phillips etc.)knowing everyone will look inside and because they want good sound. Their circuits a fairly standard (RCA receiving manual etc.) and the wiring is exceptional by any standards.As to the difference between the 300B version and 2A3 (MC 3008-A which we have) i cant say for sure though the Shuguang tubes are largely the same. The sound is very good and is quite powerful with those big 805s. You get a great deal of meat and presence. Upgrading is of course part of the fun but i think you would be very happy as is and not just "for the price". If you wanted to experiment with 300b/2a3 drivers it would be quite simple with this amp. I would not hesistate to recommend this amp to anyone as you could easily tailor the sound to your particular palette via some tube and cap rolling. I find that the mullard 12au and ax offer a better sound than the as shipped EH which are a little brite and etched. The Shuguang 2a3 is about as good as it gets. I have tried some NOS 2a3s and they changed the flavor slightly but never did we notice an "oh that is much better" scenario (we have the 2a3c)
Another amp that i am very fond of is their MC 300-A SE integrated. it is only 8 watts so it has limited utility but it sounds wonderfull and has a little more midrange bloom (as to be expected with 300bs as output tubes) and again the build quality is very good. I hope this helps and again remember that i listen to this on our speakers for 99 percent of the time. how all this would sound on lower efficiency boxes (i have heard the Ming Da stuff on Dynaudio and would rate it a poor match) i cant say. To do better from a sound or build perspective one would need to spend many multiples, 5 or more (with the exception of the Transcendent Sound amps) and then you would not have the night and day experience hoped for at that price point.
