you could always give Gordon Rankin's or Thorsten's 45-souding 300B operating points a shot.

Thorsten = 350V, 60mA, 5k - 6k load
Gordon = as above (I think) with 50mA bias; also advises SRPP 6072 driver, parafeed output and AC on the heaters.

These are supposed to sound rather different to your usual 300B...
