I have had many dif amps using these tubes and they all have very + qualitys ,some 300bs are a bit weak in the bass I find good 45 or 2a3 amps to have better deep bass believe it or not.You just have to have a speaker that can run on them the smaller amps will reach there limits faster then 300b.I would say stick with what you have or maybe find a quality 2a3.The 45 is wonderful but does have its limits.They are all great tubes if done right.

You are very attuned to bass output.
- When you have systems that can produce low bass you notice the problems SET amps have there - Kloss 06:44:48 09/17/04 (0)
  But I do perfer SET we all know about there wonderful mids .But the problems are frequincy extension.Most who use fullrange speakers can not reviel these problems .Mine do.And I perfer true fullrange sound.because Iam crazy like you .lol
