If you've had electronics training before, you should be OK to
build it yourself.1. Always always always start with a breadboard. Dont even think
about getting a schematic and then starting metal and woodwork.
The plywood prototype with clip leads is a necessary step in getting
the circuit down and the amp voiced. When its good, the wood and
metal work is the rewarding icing on the cake. :)2. Cant go wrong with a 400VDC supply. Lots of 720VCT transformers
out there do this. Angela has the best deals going now - Angela
Universal PT or the Marshall/VOX replacement. Also AES has some
like the One Electron BFTB-1.400V is too much for a 2A3 or 6V6 but just right for a 300B, a
triode connected 807, 6L6, etc.3. A 5K OPT and you also cant go wrong. Lots of great options.
If you are on a budget, the Magnequest RH60 or RH80. The One Electron
UBTs are also nice.4. 400V / 5K load leaves the most options open. 300B being a great
option. Dont snub your nose at SE pentodes either...

Thanks for the advice Jim. I am 100% certified useless in the woodwork business so the building stages and prototype will most certainly be contained in something this world never have seen before :)I will look into the trannys you mentioned. Right now I'm reading tube data pdf's and bringing the electronics books down from the attic. It's amazing how much the human brain actually stores without one knowing it. Slovely old knowledge appears and then one get an eureka, -"yes, ofcorse that's why"
