Having owned and lived with amps like; Linn Klout, Sonic Frontiers Power One,YBA2,Blue Circle BC22,Bryston 3BST,I can say that compared to the live concerts I attend of blues, jazz, folk and some classical, the SA 34SB through my Loth-X Ambience speakers sounds more like the live musical event than any of the amps I`ve personally owned. The music sounds very real. The speakers disappear and the music jumps out from a wide expanse along my front wall behind the speakers. The musicians seem to be alive in my room. The 4 watts of power are able to drive these speakers to realistic sound levels in my 13x23 foot room.
I felt this way about the amp and speakers before I read the excellent reviews in Ultra Audio and 6 Moons Audio

Follow Ups:
An efficient set of speakers this amp will produce greater than 100db at less than 4 watts. My SPL meter showed me. That 4 watts is plenty.

with four watts, you're kidding right? I don't think you looked hard enough.

a) A realistic idea of pros and cons
b) Since I don't quite know what words to put this in, I'll leave it to the imagination of people of average intelligence

Andy, You jest with me. What are you implying? I will ask you again, have you heard a Song Audio SA-34SB amp with 97db efficient speakers?
All I am saying is that I find this amp and speaker combo more musically satisfying than any other system I have owned. You saw my partial list over a 34 year period.
Now we all know that every component ever made has cons. I just didn't focus on any cons with this set-up since I am enjoying my music so much. What, you don't believe me?PROS: very realistic sounding, wide soundstage, excellent depth, great dynamics, sounds are layered, musical sounds jump out of space, sounds full range to me.
CONS: I'm sorry but I can't think of anything I would change.
Just to point out this opinion thing... 4 watts is not enough. not with 97 dB, not with 100 dB, or even with 104 dB. I might be able to live with it at the 104 dB level, but not happy.
As far as the amp sounding good, I have never heard an amp sound good when run near redline. Program peaks always take you over the top and sound goes south.
regards,
Douglas
