In Reply to: Lonnie Dongeans' gone-so what posted by Duilawyer on December 19, 2006 at 21:55:25:
Hayward signed over his songs contractually to Donegan when he was
eighteen: totally legal, no theft involved. Donegan gave him a
twelve string from his attic; it was trashed and Hayward fixed it up
and wrote much of the Moodie's material on it. It was later borrowed
by Lonnie's guitar player and never returned. Hayward bought it back
from Lonnie's estate. Donegan stole nothing, your scurrilous slander
notwithstanding. Regards,
Follow Ups:
Jsutin Hayward says otherwise on his website. And not all deals made with persons 18 are therefore legal; there are still concepts of overreaching, misrepresentation, etc. The approach that "Hey, they ahd a contract" is childish.
But apparently you know all you need to.

He does not accuse Donegan of theft. He regrets signing away his
song rights, calling it the dumbest thing he ever did, but he does
not accuse Donegan of stealing them. And since it was Donegan's
guitarist, not Donegan, who borrowed the guitar back, with the
permission of those in the house, he does not accuse him of stealing
the guitar. He's a classy guy, unlike you, a lawyer unable to
understand what he reads. Libel is often slanderous by the way.
And, one more thing, Hayward admired Donegan, knew all his songs as
a kid.Regards,
Are you saying Justin Hayward does not believe his was ripped off?
If so, you are out of your mind, and another lunatic looking to appear tough in cyberspace.
I guess, Bacon is often live pigs, by the way, in your world, libel is ofter slanderous. WRONG. Please stop making things up.
Do yourself a favor, save the personal insults, and keep out practicing law.And you don't know anything about guitar playing either, Knopfler is a talented noodler, like Frampton.

Libel is written defamation; slander is defamation. Therefore, libel
is slander. That's called a syllogism. Libel is always slander.
So, where did I say anything about the guitar playing of Knopfler
or Frampton, whom I really liked in Humble Pie? They're OK guitar
players, but neither really tickles my fancy. My idea of a good
guitar player is more along the lines of Chris Spedding, Amos Garret,
or Brij Bushan Kabra. I mean, Jesus, you like Jackson Browne. You
know, you could learn a lot from me and LWR about music, guitar, and
such. Regards,
Give it up, you are a looney.

Couldn't resist the chance to look foolish again with your false
syllogism though could you. Regards,
How about:All men eat, all fish eat, therefore some men are fish!!! LOL
Maybe that phantom injury will show up for you that appears when you make a fool of yourself in front of hundreds of people.

Seems it is no longer about music.

Almost as much as me or LWR or dave C. You are so lucky. Regards,
Thank you for the compliment. I wouldn't say that Dui is lacking in knowledge of music, he listens to plenty & brings an element to this board that is a positive in general--someone who cares about music. I just question some of his opinions, especially given the tone with which he articulates them. I also think that his view of musicianship is skewed towards elements that involve perceptions made largely without looking past the surface. Arguing the point becomes fruitless. If I have the time, I don't mind trying to get a point across. If not, whatever. But given the chance I will take the opportunity to call him on nonsensical posts.Did you happen to check the link I dropped you awhile back on Music Lane?

Yes, I looked at that and found our tastes fairly similar with the
exception of my extensive and exhaustive knowledge of reggae and
ethnic musics. No Hawkwind among his favorites, but there was the
Bubble Puppy, one of my favorite seminal Austin bands, along with
The Thirteenth Floor Elevators, the Conqueroo, and Shivas Head Band.
The Bubble Puppy's drummer, David Fore, was extraordinary. Gong is on
his list too: I find most of their stuff too precious (pot head
pixies and all), but they put out one of my favorite live albums,
"Planet Gong, Live Floating Anarchy, 1977." I have always suspected
the presence of Hawkwind's FX guys, Del Dettmar and Dik Mik at that
performance. The "Aleez Ali Baba Black Sheep Have You Any Bull Shit"
at the end of side two never fails to stimulate my victims. Anyway,
thanks for that link. Regards,
You know, like in "The tygers of wrath are wiser than the horses of
instruction." The Rock Island Line is the road to ride, man. Regards,J.R., bent, from too many tilts on the pinball while listening to
"Rock Island Line."
