...when I was about 10 years old in the late 1950s, the Coasters had a popular song called "Searchin".
My best friend had an older brother and he insisted they were singing - when the singer switches to a falsetto, after singing about walking down the street - "f**kin' brother".
The lyrics were difficult to understand, particularly on our AM radios, but how scandalous!
The actual lyrics are "I'm going to walk right down that street like...
...Bulldog Drummond", not what we thought.
It was many years later that I found out.
