to my ears, the cd is not too great-very screechy (and this is an album to be played loud!).the producer of the film (Alan Slutsky)is a friend of mine, and he told me that after the cd was released (not by him, by the rekkid company), he enlisted an old music producer friend to help with the dvd sound, which is much better
on any medium, the Joan Osborne version of "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted" is one of the great vocal performances of all time - check out the producer and director commentary on the dvd as she sings, it's terrific

Thanks Musiclistener,That's precisely the info I was looking for.
Now, IF I KNEW HOW TO DO IT, I'd rip the song tracks from the DVD to my hard drive, then burn a CD using Exact Audio Copy. Should be better quality...right?
