Follow Ups:
...I saw the Loggins nd Messina reunion concert last summer and was reminded what a great musician Jim Messina is/was.

Yeah, great show. They played Maui the last show of the tour and some local musicians were invited up on stage to perform with them. I was sitting in the audience next to Pat Simmons( Doobie Bros) and his wife. I was impressed with how good Kenny Loggins still sounds. Messina was always more than competent.

and really enjoyed his work on songs like Angry Eyes. In fact their whole band was quite good.

.........I saw them a few times around '72-'74. Messina was great. The entire band was great. I think the sax player was Garth something or other. He was super. They sure made great music. I agree,"Angry Eyes" was and still is a great song.

Messina and Rusty Young really jelled on that one and the band lost a big part of its identity when Paul Cotton joined. Or maybe it's better to say the identity shifted.
