We are now 30 years from the time MTV stopped broadcasting the video of Motley Crue's badass "Girls, Girls, Girls." I'm not going to repeat myself, so re-read my old post first.
In May 1987, I was finishing up my sophomore year of high school. So no, my friends had not yet frequented the San Francisco strip clubs, sex stores, and other adult entertainment venues, we passed everyday to and from school.
It was really "Girls, Girls, Girls," which caused many of my classmates to say, "F--- it," shed the restraints, and go full bore into heavy metal. If you've read my post, you can surmise that we not only bought the album, we got Motley Crue patches, keychains, t-shirts, bandanas, posters, and stickers.
The song was so kick-ass, it inspired us to become audiophiles. Ah, speaking of which, when we returned for the 87-88 school year, I formed what was intended to be an afterschool audio club, Disc & DAT. Alas, when a bunch of nerdy boys showed up, and ruined the social dynamics, I pulled the plug on Disc & DAT.
When The Crue's albums were remastered, the CDs were encoded with HDCD. Be careful. The sound is cleaner, more refined, with a deeper insight to the timbres. If you were expecting a more powerful, cutting, dirty, gritty, punchy, neck-breaking, and kick-ass sound, you won't get it. Which isn't to say that the remastered versions don't have their strengths and charms. But just be aware of this.
But c'mon, 30 years ago, we couldn't even see 30 days in front of us. Yet, we knew damn well that, 30 frickin' years later, we'd still be enjoying "Girls, Girls, Girls," if not kicking ass on the Wild Side. But no, given that MTV self-censored, and didn't play the video, we could not have predicted or foreseen just how popular, ubiquitous, and beloved the song is now. Had we known that back in '87, we would have high-fived each other, rather than getting all mad and frustrated, and fighting the adults.

I have always been a big fan of MC. Havent seen them in concert since about 2000 though.
Nice posts- Lummy
I was fortunate to follow The Crue from the very start. The video for Girls, Girls, Girls, fell under the "censorship" of MTV? Hard to believe that it was not played afterhours, especially, on Head Banger's Ball ?
And yes, Jack Wagner gets all of the pussy.
