Tulsa Sound
Very influential sound... authentic, original and expanded upon by Clapton, Knopfler and Garcia. I can't think of a finer group of guitarists to have influenced. A musicians musician.
Follow Ups:
I prefer JJ's stuff over Claptons (with some minor exceptions) by a wide margin

"I prefer JJ's stuff over Claptons" - Understandable.
For me... It depends if I want to ride in a 67 Corvette or a Ferrari Italia that day/ as exampled by this clip.

My favorite all time JJ cover is After Midnight- Jerry Garcia Band at Kean College. This same set has a sublime rendition of Eleanor Rigby as well.
I need to ask if you are familiar with a (more or less) classic folk album done by Jerry & David Grisman. Terrific

The title is "Shady Grove"
