Well the early 70's you had to have a conga player (something they should bring back IMHO)unfortunately they picked a lousy one, I don't think he was part of the Meters so he must have been a pick up.

Uganda is best known for playing with Professor Longhair in his revival years, and he has appeared with Dr. John a number of times. He is on some Meters sessions (and other Allen Toussaint productions that the Meters played on,) but the conga player the Meters used in their later years was Art Neville's brother Cyril, who also sang with the group.
