Their continued popularity allowed me to experiment, but all I hear are grown men trying to sound like 7 year olds throwing a tantrum and what appears to be making fun of hip-hop. Very little actual music, and an over-amplified rhythm section.
What am I doing wrong?
Follow Ups:
Also since the passing of the bass player aka the brain of the group Adam Yauch there are no more beasties.
The group ended out of respect for Adam.
Thanks for the reminder I've been listening to "check your head" though my Yamaha player hooked up to my Auralic using Coax.
Fun times, good music, they will be missed. I have some other recordings from b.s. 2000, I have a rare CD of their demos, and all their albums , I just took my flashlight out and tried to find The album Ill communication and I can't find it, so I have to use tidal on my Auralic Aries to hear that album next.
If anyone has any ideas for organizing. 2,000 CD collection it would be appreciated.
... all in alphabetical order and haven't played them for... a long time.
Everything is played via my Squeezebox Duet (with outboard DAC) and the CDs are only left out to make it easier to loan them to people.
.
I recommend "i ll communication", "check your head" and " the in sound from way out."The in sound from way out is all instrumental, yes, head Adam on the upright bass, even violins are in there,
Don't let their hip hop nonsense confuse you, it is intended to.

I hear you on the beastie boys.
However- I highly recommend
Pauls boutique. For me, it's the only
One I regularly go back to.
The dust brothers made all the music
And from what I understand beasties
Loved it and added lyrics afterwards.
Also- sounds from the way out.
Instrumental and great.
