I just heard and I don't really have a handle on my feelings yet, but I know his energy for music will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Thanks. How long ago was photo taken?
I miss Larry's music postings: music and musings. With Larry's death it appears that this forum has now taken up permanent residence in Lummy's world.
...he and I were nemeses in political matters - me liberal and he alt-right.But when it came to music and the classic rock culture we had a lot in common.
I would have liked to have had a beer with him.
After debating and posting in (his) Rock Forum all these years I was surprised the loss I felt when he passed.
Lummy is the new generation - music from the late 1980s and 1990s - not my music either.

as a died in the wool pink diaper baby, i stay away from political postings. It's the music. Larry was alt-right? Did I read you 'right' ? I guess you are correct about a generational divide and difference in musical tastes as well as experience(s) in the world. So be it.
Politics be damned, let's hoist one for LWR !
He helped me to change my taste in music.
Just today and really all times i come to rock section i would think hows he's doing?
Damn sad news.
Sad!!

Every night I would come home and log into asylum to see if hew was back. What knowledge and taste that guy had. R.I.P. , Godspeed and all that.

I am deeply saddened by this news. I've not been so regular on the forum, but I knew he was seriously ill and I had hoped he would recover. :-( Years ago Larry and I traded music video and audio on discs, and I always treasured the photos and stories he posted here. Just recently, while watching an old Stones film with my godson, I pointed Larry out, taking pictures in front of the stage. My godson thought it was so cool that I "knew" Larry (we never met, just electronic communication and media mailings).
I will miss him. I will miss his knowledge of the Dead and the San Francisco music scene. I will miss his contemporary music recommendations - which were always worth checking out. I will miss his great appreciation and love for music - which he shared so generously with all of us, enriching our own knowledge and appreciation of the same.
Fare thee well, Larry. Happy trails in the Great Beyond. Thank you for all the good stuff your shared here. You will be long-remembered.
LWR added so much music, commentary and photographs. May he rest in peace.

Sad news. We had different opinions in regards to politics, but musically we were darn close. I'll miss his contributions to Music Lane (Rocky Road)
I tried to reach him at the rehab center last weekend and go another patient at his number. Main desk could only tell me he was no longer a patient there. I had hopes he would rebound. His earlier reports were for a complete recovery taking time and much therapy. RIP Larry
AS many have already said the insights he was able to give from his "I was there" perspective were invaluable.
All we can hope for is his death occurring quicker than we would have thought saved him from earthly pain.
Unquestionably one of the highlights of the AUDIO ASYLUM.
He was already missed and now we know he will not be returning.
Long live LWR!
Really sorry to see him go. He was a treasure here at AA and a very generous soul.
Turned me on to more music than just about anyone I can think. For that... a huge thank you to you Lars.
Best wishes to his Wife and Son.
I'm very saddened and will miss him. RIP Larry
I enjoyed swapping new song and band recommendations with Larry. He had a huge knowledge across the spectrum and I'll miss him being around here.
Like many here I sure fel the loss. His tremendous enthusiasm for different music was amazing. As an Aussie I was amazed at how many Oz bands he followed (the better ones. Has anyone seen an obit for him?
R.I.P.- LWR.
and grew more concerned the longer he was away.
He was always helpful and had so much joy for music and the people who made it. He will be very missed.

This news saddens me. Last I had heard on this forum, Larry was recovering. I so enjoyed his forum presence, in which he memorialized his in- person, on the street, lived connection to a time when music, politics and culture came together in SF. Damnation
Like most of us here I've never actually met him, yet I still feel the loss.
I'm sure most of us lived vicariously through his music posts (especially Stevie's panties). He will be missed here.
