The young BD in an unaffected folky voice; not channeling Woody. These cuts have been sprinkled across his huge published oeuvre. This voice is neither more or less authentic than his later voice; the one that we generally identify with BD. Though, I would bet that it mirrors his non singing/spoken voice...at least prior to assuming another mask.

Similar experience here - when I worked in radio, I always listed to the on air DJ on my drive in. One shift I arrived ans was talking with the DJ I was listening to on my drive in that day and he mentioned the Dylan tune he played near the very end of his shift. . . 'What Dylan tune?' I asked. . . 'Lay Lady Lay' was his response.
Dylan was actually intelligible at one point of his career ; )
