A couple of weeks ago I played a live set of Voodoo Child.
Hendrix In The West
Stevie Ray & Double Trouble
Clapton Crossroads with Steve Windwood (the original organ player)
Now I have a new one to enjoy.
Good cover. One of my favorite two Jimi Hendrix tunes (the other is 'Burning of the Midnight Lamp'), both from the Electric Ladyland album.
Missed seeing Jimi on his tour for Electric Ladyland. Had a ticket but going horizontal with a girlfriend took priority. What a mistake. Hehe
...excellent.
I recall the first time I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn live at a small club in Berkeley on his first tour in about 1985.
For his encore he played Voodoo Child and it blew me away - like he was channeling Jimi.
I only saw Stevie once. I have written about going into the Oregon State Penitentiary with him and double trouble to put on a show for the convicts. We were separated from the population in a small room together before being taken out to the yard for the show.
