With Lowell George and the Meters, a cover that creams Little Feat's original. And Little Feat is my favorite band.
Great, funky stuff.
By far one of my very favorite albums right from the second i heard it.
That Palmer was signed with. I purchased Power Station tickets for a performance at Merriwether Post Pavilion (yes!!) and being totally stoked that I'd get to see such a fabulous lineup!
Well, come showtime they cue the music and dim the lights. My anticipation is "palpable", to steal an audiophile phrase. And, sure enough, there are the Taylor boyz, fixin' to shred. And then out to the main mic walks some curly-headed dude who looks nothing like Robert Palmer. WTF??! And then he opens his mouth and begins to "sing".
Bogus!! Who *is* this imposter? He sounds nothing like the legendary RP. WTF?!! Man, I was *pissed*!! The asshole record company had decided that RP would not be allowed to sing on this tour. 'Course, this minor fact was never published in advance of the show. They sold me a bill of goods, those bastids!!
I suffered thru the show, but I was SOOOO disappointed. So much so that I have no problem downloading everything I ever wanted - FOR FREE - off the internet....
Sneaking Sally through the alley
Some people can do what they like
And my favorite, double fun
I sure miss him.
