Prior to purchasing a Power Plant Premier, I posted concerns about the unit containing a fan and this leading to audible fan noise. Well, I took the plunge and have had one in my system for about a year. It turns out that the fan is not audible at all. I really don't know whether it has ever been on.
I will not comment on sonics because my system is still very much in a transition state.

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed, in most cases you simply never even know it has a fan.
I guess I'm one of the other cases. I've owned my PPP (black) for 3 weeks now, and although I love what it does for the performance of my system, the fan noise is near to unbearable,... it sounds like a little, tiny truck idling. Also once the fan starts, it's often the case that it won't turn off (even when all components are put into stand-by), eventually I can't take it anymore and unplug the PPP to reset the fan.
Please don't misunderstand me, I love the product and realize that the fan needs to engage when the going gets hot, I just wish it was quieter and would turn off when not needed.
Cheers
Jeff
Not a peep out of my unit. Though I do miss the heat that my P1000 generated compared to the PPP. Kept my room nice and toasty.
Know what you mean. :)
