I understand that PS Audio is coming out soon with a replacement for the Quintessance. I am trying to find out more information about the design of this unit and how it may be different from the Quintessance. Also, when the unit will be available for sale to the public. Thanks

The units are called the AV3000 and AV5000. They are terrific units and basically the "same" as the IPC8000 and IPC9000 without all the internet controls included.
You can read about them here: http://www.psaudio.com/ps/products/detail/powerplay?cat=power
We should have pictures and descriptions of the actual units up and ready to show next month when they arrive. Should be shipping in December and I think the price is $499 and $799 (don't actually remember).
I know the IPC8000 and IPC9000 are IR capable, but they don't come with remotes. What about the AV3000 and AV5000?
No remotes either although, as you point out, they are capable.
Thank you for your response. I would be using this unit for my audio system only. I am looking for a minimist approach (passive as opposed to active conditioning) that preserves the pace and dynamics of the music as it does its conditioning. How would the new model compare to the quintennance in this regard. Also, will it be possible to change out or upgrade the ac outlets that come with this new unit. Thanks
This unit could have the outlets changed, yes, but we are using Power Ports on the 5000 so there probably wouldn't be a good need to replace them - although you certainly can.
It will not be quite as good as the Quintessence in terms of overall cleaning, but with respect to the two areas you refer to: pacing and dynamics it may be better.
