Just see if it's coming on - and it sounds like it's not. 99% of the time it's the fan transistor that may have died and this is probably the case if it's overheating at this low wattage. It will need to come back for repair.

Paul; my P500 is loaded 75 watt only, its passive outlets are fully plugged (with a TV and Blu-ray player)
Yet, even without anything on, the unit is warmed.
With 75 watt, it is quite hot. But its fan is never turned on. In fact, since day 1 I have owned the P500, I have never heard any fan noises, so I do not know if the fan is OK.
How can I know if my P500 is overheated and that the fan should be on to cool it down ?
My unit is 220V.
Most of the P500's ran fairly hot and it took 100 watts or more to turn it on. My guess is you're fine.
