"It would be possible for one to denigrate your methods only after you have provided a method. So far, you have not provided any reasonable "method" which can be questioned. You have, provided lots and lots of verbage about how you are "experinced" in such matters of high end audio, but as far as I can see, your methods are simply, "I tried it, it works, trust me, I'm Jon..." Without any rigorous methodology.."John:
That quote goes to the very core of Jon's "new clothes". Unfortunately, because he recognizes no constraints imposed by the very disciplines in which he was supposedly educated, he can perpetuate the BIG LIES in any unrestrained way he chooses.
That's why he focuses so much on naysayers and yeasayers - and sees the world of cables divided into two opposing camps. His mindset is that of a cultist - not a scientist.
No amount of reason will ever change this situation. He is unprincipled and a disgrace to the engineering profession. Sadly, your fellow co-workers are probably quite justified in their temptation to start laughing at you for trying.
You have done your best. But I have concluded that the people who frequent AA in the main are cultists looking for a cult leader. Many are educated, articulate people, but that has never been a guaranty against human frailties that cause people to seek the security of irrational dogma rather than the uncaring sharp knife of the truth.
You've fought the good battle and I respect you for that. I will respect you if you choose to continue to fight, but I will respect you no less if you choose to find other outlets to report on your very interesting work. I merely ask that you keep me and others informed if you choose to go elsewhere to a place where truth and science are respected and encouraged.

Follow Ups:
I had hoped that when prophead was established, it could be a nice venue to discuss the types of things I have been trying to discuss.Unfortunately, JR deals with my posts as if they are a threat to his existance, rather than as a more scientific foray into cables and human hearing.
When I started here, I remained open to the possibility that cables could affect the sound of a system, but saw nobody providing any semblence of scientific reasoning...just the typical yay/nay bull on Jon's part..
Finding reasonable research that may well provide better clarification on how a simple wire can affect human soundstage perceptions, I find him fighting tooth and nail, rather than persuing scientifically. Tis a shame, really..that type of attitude, as I pointed out long ago, is the reason research from 1976 has languished on the shelf forgotten..for him, it's been "my way or the highway".
When provided a reasonable and scientific basis for "wiresounds", he doesn't understand the ramifactions...so he is in the way of progress with his attitude. It's a shame the owner of the forum does not see that JR's attitude is the reason the forum doesn't really take off.
I'd hate to stop posting here, as there are quite a few very good posters here that I respect. (even though they disagree and argue with me on occasion..silly them :-)
Cheers, John
