Quad vinyl also had a carrier frequency...45KhZ if memory serves me.

The regular material was not suitable so the re-engineered the media! Mobile Fidelity used it for the half speed masters.

Half speed recording to disc master has many advantages.

I remember the first MFHS for me was DSOTM and then AJA. Sat there with my mouth hanging open. What a cold slap in the face it was comparing to the first release CD's. The MFHS just blew them away no comparison at all.
