One should always audition a component in one's own home. Otherwise, it may just be someone else's room that's throwing off the sound (or improving it).Great post, Richard. Sometimes we forget the importance of the room - not just how to improve it but the role it plays even in its unimproved state.

The effect of the room was illustrated quite well to me following a recent move. I now enjoy the fruits of an improved room. Flatter is better (at least when it comes to rooms) ;)
