I once asked Ray about this at a CES. He told me that no amount of measurements would convince the naysayers. Also, the variations in the transducer designs (input as well as output) imparted such a deviation that the cable differences are often cancelled out or at least minimized. Often, not always!
Check out his 25 anniversary brochure. It has the most complete specs of his cables, probably better than anyone else has ever published of any set of cables. The correlation of very small numbers and the hearing iof them takes some doing however.
Ray has been extremely proud that he has been able to afford an extensive array of test gear, in order to measure differences and to correlate them to the sound. The ability of some human ear's to hear things which takes $1000's of test gear is rather remarkable.
Just my 2 cents.
