Is a relay not switching? Does the unit require a 12V trigger in order to enable? You know Bob, it's really tough to diagnose a problem without a schematic and the unit on my bench, but I thought I would suggest a possibilty.

Exactly. It could be almost anything. I have purchased units with two dead channels assuming a simple thing like a protection relay triggered or power supply problem and found every output transistor fried along with half the drivers. I put so much time into that one that I got attached to it and kept it.
