this made me shiver a little...
does anyone else feel like the world is crumbling around them??
well its more of a stock ownership thing as QC has not been changed for the Midas/Klark.
If they do that, Yamaha would be in the position to make more M3000 and PM3000's
or Soundcraft would take the lead.
Yeah… a year and a half ago.
KT has been on a downward slope for awhile. The founder and technical director left 15 years ago and started MC2 Audio and the better digital engineers also left years ago to start XTA who by now merged with MC2 Audio.
Midas still make excellent analogue life boards. But then they always made the best.
i had the pleasure of talking with the head of Midas north America. About a year ago. Although i think it is real funny. and kinda sad... he claims it will have no effect on Midas's products and services. Berhinger has claimed to leave Midas to do there thing they just wanted the company for the revenue, but we have all seen what "maximizing profits" does for quality. Despite their promises to keep Midas Midas, i am interested to see if Berhinger makes Midas adopt Berhingers business model of "cheap crap sells more and costs less to make," Now that major touring acts will reject a $200,000 Midas console and demand a D show Profile, it will be interesteing to see how Berhinger reacts to the loss of revenueand if they still let midas stay midas.
There are still plenty of acts who insist on a Midas console FoH and rental companies still buy them. Nothing has changed as of yet.
Midas consoles are also becoming more popular for studio use due to a lack of new analogue alternatives.
