Can you give a model/make here?
Its like asking where can I get a belt for a car
What car? What model
Tom Danleys servo drive?
Follow Ups:
basstech 7
Seems the Servo-motor parts are no longer supported. A long time ago, I replaced a burnt-out servomotor assembly with a pair of EVX 150 speakers. The disco didn't kill them for as long as it remained open as far as I know.
That was a smaller version than the SDL-7, which probably required less drive force, so the EVX 150 performed quite well, though I never got to do an AB test to see how well.
A pair of Lab 12 speaker available from Eminence should work better in the SDL-7. Martinsoundpro.com is a good dealer of Eminence.
They are 12" speakers, so they would require reducing "donuts" to replace the 15" servo drive.
Obviously, they won't match in sound, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if you don't like them better.
A shame parts seem so hard to find.
The correct model is the Basstech 7. The previous model was the SDL-5, and it had a smaller sibling called the SDL-4. These were both "W" style horns, the Basstech 7 is a "Nautilus" or spiral style horn. The BT7 and SDL-5 were both 45"x45"x22.5".
I haven't had contact with the company since I left, four years next October, along with Tom Danley, and three others, . I have heard others mention that parts aren't being supplied and making contact nearly impossible, YMMV.
Tom could say better, but a pair of LAB12 drivers would probably provide satisfactory response in a BT7, although modifications to the module that contains all of the original Servodrive parts would have to be made.
Best regards,
John
