Hello! I didn't try to preinstall lynx, its files are on a different (cmp) computer and I did this trial just for experiment. I had only 1 blank cdr disk. I will try today, but, I think, I have to download a separate spak at first.

Oh, THANKS A LOOOOOOOT!!!
U r most welcome. The file is on it's way. Uploading. U will receive it in less than 20 mins.
I made my first nLite install last night. Took less than 10 mins & then made the cics optimisations. Overall it was done in about an hour. The sonics at this stage itself are way superior to anything I had heard before. I wanted to listen for a couple of hours before starting with the Batch deletions. The sound is way civilised, & controlled. The noise floor has dropped a real lot. The most evident aspect was the front-to-back imaging. Very well defined. The tone is clean with no peaks or sibilances. The only thing I felt that was missing was a little Salt in the dish. I'm sure that will settle in after the deletions...

with impatience. Will be reassembling-reinstalling-reeverything these days.
Serge.
So Serge and Jolida,
You are no longer using XPlite in your file removal procedures?
KC
Hello! I really do not know yet. I will be using nLite-prepared installation for the first time. I have seen and tried to remove as many things as I thought possible or sensible, but I suspect that some components may still remain. But I cannot say FOR SURE, I haven't tried it yet. All I know is that file deletions are still to be done, and here the bat files from Jolida are most welcome, just as his reg files are. He even prepared a reg file for the lost&last registry tweaks. Bless him! But bat files cover only my 1-16 tweaks while the tweaks go to part 22 and theye cover almost all of Mihaylov's tweaks as well. Almost nobody seemed to follow or reported to have come only my way. And it IS GOOD, because different approaches give a variety of results, we all can choose from by trial and error. Take Rick and Grant with their registry slimming down and an idea (simple and beautiful) to use ps/2 mouse. It is these things that made me redo the cmp again. I will certainly report. But the smaller the registry-the better is (imho) beyond doubt, even looking from the viewpoint of reduction of threads, severed by file deletions and memory management by windows that we can affect only partially. I am experimenting a lot now with memory timings and boot.ini memory settings now. Some results are very interesting. One was splendid but unstable. Will soon post about the nLitening and my small "finds" that are no secret, certainly, to more advanced computer folks.
Serge.

there is a conflict. It will seem to sort of work but it makes a mess.
Give it a try since it is easy to start over but I know you will not like what happens.
If you are using the minimal nLite install I doubt it will work at all. I never tried it again after my first experience with it months ago.
To future minimalists: don't waste your money!
