Re-create the c:\ windows\inf folder & put back the INFCACHE.1 as well as everything to do with USB..

still does not work. Since I lost this function in My Tweak page 5 I'm going to try to restore those files. Think there was only 11 or so.
Hope u get it to work asap...
How's the sound at this stage ??

I restored all the filoes (17 of them) from page 5 of My Tweak and I can now cut & paste ok but cmp does not recognize thumb drive. Still get a 'Do you want to format the disk' error message.
even though I restored the files mentioned...sonics are still very good.
Ok I narrowed down the cut & paste function to a small group of dll's: rpcn4,rpcss, rsfaps, rshx32. When I put these files back in cmp boots faster and cut & paste is restored. The process I used was restore 5-7 files reboot see if I fix the problem and it worked well for the cut & paste function. However when I used this process to find why I could not get thumb drives or my esata docking station to work I ran into weird results.I restored 8 drivers from my temp folder beginning with wshatm through drmk and I got a no boot. Put acpiec through drmk.sys back into the temp folder still no boot. So I restored wshatm, wshbth and so since this was where I was before it should boot ....but still no boot ...very weird. All I can figure is that is that some interaction between rpcn4... and wshatm...is going on or the order of file deletes is important or I goofed up somewhere. . Anyway I restored my last good os disc file for all the tweaks through My tweak 2 and I'm back in music
but no cut & paste and no thumb drive functionality but it sounds great.
