I wrote a note of thanks this morning and for some reason I see it is not there.
PROCESS EXPLORER is a tool I need to use AGAIN!
Funny thing is I am pretty sure all of those files are still in my OS. Will have to check when I get home.
Thanks, again, for the information and help,

Hi Rick,
I can only agree: autoruns and process explorer should have be used more. Also during the development of all the ‘Steppe tweaks’.
I still have a hard time in understanding how sound quality can be improved through deleting files that are not in use and/or are not going to be used.
Using autoruns and process explorer I found that the ‘Steppe tweaks’ indeed do delete some files that are used when running a cmp setup.. Such as: ntmarta.dll, shiming.dll, batmeter.dll, davclnt.dll, webcheck, imagenhlp, kerberos.dll, urlmon.dll, ect. (I roughly checked until Steppe Tweaks Part 7).
But most files on those deletion list aren’t used or in use at all when playing music. So how can this improve sound quality?
I even discovered that deleting files can rise latency significantly. When I delete igfxpph.dll in my cMp setup latency doubles ! This can’t be a desirable thing and is certainly not good for SQ.
My strategy would be too use process explorer too create a list of files which are used in a running cMP setup. And than experiment which of these files can be deleted.
I already found some (see above).
But I prefer too wait and see how the Steppe Tweaks process will develop on the asylum.
I like too concentrate first on experiments with power filters on the 5 volt DC and 3,3 Volt DC power lines that power my Jyli@ digital part separately.

I am making some comments ... not trying to argue.
You said: '...I still have a hard time in understanding how sound quality can be improved through deleting files that are not in use and/or are not going to be used...'
I have a difficult time understanding too. But I remember Cics commenting that in the work of developing one of the cplay versions he discovered that changing the order in which the coding was compiled had an effect on sonics. So leaving a file in that is not used could also change how coding is compiled.
You said '...I even discovered that deleting files can rise latency significantly. When I delete igfxpph.dll in my cMp setup latency doubles ! This can't be a desirable thing and is certainly not good for SQ...'
This is a very good point and is maybe another reason why putting files back in may be recommended.

Isn't it interesting that none of these files (except for imagehlp)are in the Mihaylov post concerning what files are needed for cmp and cplay.
These facts are certainly strange and should convince anyone to have an image backup program (like Snapshot) when doing the tweaks. You just never know what is and what is not required to boot and to run cmp/cplay...in your machine.
I can also tell you that having a windows footprint of only 80+ mb (which is where I am now)is definitely a good thing imo and in my experience for sonics.
Hi Theo,
Why should there be an argue in a negative way?
I think Steppe's idea/insight is very clever.
“Kernel streaming itself is clogged with attached and unreported services that are like leeches on a mermaid's ass or like fleas on a golden fleece. These services are from Direct X, Sound services and kernel audio "helpers". Also there are two DRM descramblers, that I don't know how to remove yet. By removing these files , some of which are of greater, some of lesser importance, we leave our KS beauty almost totally naked and busy with sound reproduction exclusively”.
It is not only an clever idea, it also works !
The sound quality improvement is heard by everyone.
So we all start removing 'these files'
But unfortunately removing 'these files' is done rather blindy.
We don't know exactly which files too remove.
Thus: files are being removed untill the cMP setup no longer works.
But why do we do that?
What thought or ration is behind it?
May be: “Less is beter'?
May be there is a way too identify 'these files'.
So that we no longer brick our cMP setup in an attempt too remove 'these files'.
I do not know anything about software or programming, ect.
But my feeling tells me: there has to be a better way than just blindy removing files in an attempt too hit 'these files'.
So I'm looking for a way too implement Steppe idea's without crippling or breaking my cMP setup.
In my reply too Rick I was trying too excite/stimulate/tease other inmates too explore other less intrusive ways too implement Steppe's idea's
I'm not a native English speaker but the dictionary tells me that 'argue' also can mean:
'to discuss, giving one's reasoning'. So let's argue. May be there's a clever inmate who knows a clever way too identify 'these files'.
