Roon also struck me a bit the wrong way with it's "we know better what you want than you do" vibe.
I feel the exact same way, I used to visit the forum over there and the mod or dev used to have a very bad attitude. Even trolling people and arguing with people. Needless to say, once my trial was done I never looked back.
I would like to see a few minor changes with the Material Skin but don't know how to go about proposing it, I really don't feel like getting attacked on a forum for making a suggestion.
I was even thinking about forking the project since its open source and paying a dev a couple hundred dollars to make the changes.

    I think I found a dev.
    
    Still need to work out some details, but it looks doable, even being able to continue to pull upstream changes from the original Material Skin's future changes.
    
    Looks like I might be able to have my own personal version of Material Skin.

        My rework of Material Skin is done, so glad I'm finally getting off of the endless marry-go-round of updates.
        
        Only a few small changes but much more user friendly. And most of all no more endless/mindless/meaningless updates. Some devs make great projects but I really do think they end up on a mouse-wheel and don't know how to stop. Moode audio is the same way....change for the sake of change, and then change some more.
