My suggestion is to always run Ethernet IF you can. Not for sound quality as I can't hear any difference compared to Wifi. However, Ethernet is more reliable and easier to troubleshoot should a problem arise.

Of course, and if we ever do remodel this cracker box I'll have it installed. But for $100 EOP solved most of my drop out problems.

I don't know where the internet outlet will be, but envision the Nucleus and Ayre DX-5 DSD stacked in a rack below the TV with Ethernet cables running along the baseboard to the router and the LS60.

I bought the M2 Mini to replace my 2015 27" iMac, then discovered how expensive retina displays are. I think the Mini could run Roon without display, keyboard, or mouse, with control by an iPad. I suspect I would be unable to detect a sonic difference between Roon run in the Nucleus or Mini, or between Ethernet and WiFi.

In either case I think I need a modem and router to generate WiFi and provide Ethernet, something to buy before I move in.

  Your Mini can run Roon just fine and rather than running it w/o a monitor you can connect it to your TV. You will be able to control Roon with a wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, and the iPad.
  
  I would check with your new facility and internet provider before buying a new modem / wifi router. Make sure what you're buying is supported on their service OR just rent it from your internet provider.

    I would start by renting a Cox Gateway (Modem plus Wired Ethernet Ports plus WiFi Router). If it proves to be inadequate you can replace it with your own equipment.

      I rent a Cox Panorama modem/router with Cox internet service for $87 a month. It generates a strong WiFi network, provides Ethernet to the Roon Nucleus, and a port to the AT&T base. Maybe I should take the Panorama to the apartment. I think it rents for about $15 a month.
      
      Abe's post reminded me that I used the M2 Mini for a while to control Roon running in the Nucleus. The display was the 85" Sony But there was no convenient place for the keyboard and mouse, so I returned to my 27" iMac or iPad for control. I didn't try running Roon on the M2 although I ran it on the iMac before I got the Nucleus.

        I find wireless keyboards and mice to be very conveniently located by my side on the sofa ;-)

        Since I'm using a 75" big screen in front of me the keyboard + mouse work well. I can also use the iPad to control Roon on the 75" screen so I don't need the keyboard + mouse in that case - but they come in handy if I'm in YouTube.

        I use a MacBookAir for Roon and internet in the living room. I'll try using an iPad to control Roon running on the Nucleus in the media room. In addition to Ethernet to the LS60, the Nucleus is connected via HDMI to a Sony HT A9, and the A9 even shows 'Roon' as the source when it's playing.
        
        Turns out the retirement community has an IT team I'll be consulting with.

        Excellent! My Dad's IT team at his community was either me or the HVAC guy ;-)
