Key words: 'Should' and 'USPS'. :-)
I've already constructed a 'not gonna post a picture of it because...' Canare Quad Star cable for it. Also in the same package should be the UpTone USPCB A>B Adapter which I will try as well. It provides for an on/off switch for the VBUS and as the Amanero USB to I2S card is powered by the DAC, I'd like to try that feature as well.
Going to try hanging the uRendu off the back of my Audio-GD Master 11 DAC/Headphone amp much like I'm currently hanging the Regen off the back of my Master 7 DAC in my main system.
Boring report will follow as soon as I had a chance to listen with it in the system.
Have no idea of the long-term reliability issues that go along with hanging even small, light boxes off of USB sockets. Logic says no way while replacing a cable with a connector says 'AUDIOPHILE'!
Follow Ups:
Will you get the ultraRendu so it will match your LPS-1, possibly with the optional front face plate to tie the two together?
Let us know how you like the LPS-1. It's an interesting design alternating between two banks of ultra caps.
THEN upgrade to the UltraRendu for $875.
Total of $1100 that way because....
That's how Audiophiles roll!
You mean USPS (via French post) to France, or directly to SF? LOL, the USPS-French connection recently gave us a major surprise by delivering to our daughter promptly (in Lyon). Quite out of their usual.
Anyway, I am sitting on the sidelines, just watching. I figure that at some point you'll likely illuminate us with the results of these changes. I am trying to determine if the ISO Regen is really what I need and, if so, whether the LPS-1 is really a "must".
Best wishes!
It sure is lighting up my headphone systems right out of the box.
That said, I've got some system problems that prevent the uRendu from 'seeing' my DAC (or any USB DAC for that matter) upon powering down and powering back up.
Thought it was a bad USB cable when I first got it, but tried 3 different cables that all work fine with the MacBook air.
And all this with the arguably BAD DC cable that UpTone provides with the LPS-1.
I have no idea what an ISO Regen will do in your system but...
I'm no even using regular Regen between the uRendu and my DAC and the LPS-1 has move me up a MAJOR step from the cheap 7.5 switcher that came with both the Regen and also powers the LPS-1.
Gonna listen for a while then try the LPS-1 in 5V mode on my Raspberry Pi to compare.
I'm no even using regular Regen between the uRendu and my DAC...
because it already includes one!
Wicked! Tks. Looking forward to your impressions as you go along. Even the tests with the RPi may be of help (for friends that are looking into the RPi).

What are you currently using? The Regen is unnecessary when using the uRendu since that is part of its circuitry.
Is arguably the quietest low voltage power supply "a must"? Are you interested in the most realistic dynamic presentation of your music?
E-Stat, thanks for the input. BTW, I didn't realize that was a stock pix.
Given certain environmental constraints in an apartment, I am rather well covered for the dynamics, for now. That said, with these highly modded but ancient Maggies already pushed beyond the original design limits, I still do see a little upside potential in other SQ aspects.
For example, as I spend extra time adding more DSD files to the separate and optimized music PC, the fruits of the effort are clear. It used to be that only the SACD players could do a proper job. Yet, to my surprise, an experiment with a USB Geek Out 1000 last year paid off grandly; unexpected since other "better" USB DAC's did not impress as much.
So, I am wondering if the ISO Regen should be my next budget addition. I do have to check on a few things. More so because, always running in class-A, the little GO 1000 seems to pull in more amps than the USB "decrapifiers" tried so far can provide. To be sure, I don't even "know" that I need it but if one doesn't try...
Anyway, should the LPS-1 be needed also...budget-wise, hmmm, let's just say my wife has her own priorities :)

For a given amount of power available, wider dynamics provides a lower floor. I'm not sure how room size plays into that. I would find such an improvement valuable for headphone listening as Ivan does.
Maybe I've missed it, but what I am wondering is what would the LPS-1 power in your system? The Geek Out seems to be powered via the USB connection to a computer.
E-Stat, I hate it when I edit down for brevity and delete details, my bad.
The LPS-1 would be for an ISO Regen that I may or may not buy to place before the GO. That's a USB unit which they sell with a SMPS but may be upgraded with the LPS-1. If, independently of the ISO Regen, the LPS-1 makes much of a SQ difference, I may have to consider it sooner than planned. (Then again, few LPS in my life have failed to bring improvements...)
LOL, apartment space poses no major constraints. Adjacent neighbors limiting the high SPLs and South Florida's rumbling A/C's in the summer raising the noise floor, do. Worse, I used to count on cool"ish" winters for seasonally improved noise floors, both sonic and electrical. Damned global warming has killed it all lately!...oh, wait, what global warming? :)
I agree that using an LPS-1 for just a Regen might be overkill. Some folks split the output to drive multiple devices. :)
Mine drives a uRendu player with the original USB Regen built. The resolution and dynamic punch was improved when I replaced an otherwise nice LPS with the LPS-1 and starquad DC power cord.

Why not ease the stress and give it support? I use inexpensive DiversiTech cork pads .
larger than the table is sits on, barely room for all four feet, so there is nothing to sit the uRendu on unless I stack 3 feet of books on the floor behind it.
It sits next to my chair in the living room because it's for headphone listening.
However, with the right power cord between the LPS-1 and the uRendu, and think I can 'makedu'. ;-)
Good luck!
