Reading the specification of this application I believe that it will not capture an AAC stream. Am I correct? I am also unsure if it would record a FLAC stream.
I would be most grateful for your advice and, if I am right, whether there may be an alternative that I should consider.

PC or Mac? In any case, Audacity is available for both platforms and I've used it to capture audio streams. You may need to download and install FFmpeg to work in conjunction with Audacity. There are resources on the web including YouTube videos that walk you through it. Once FFmpeg is installed you don't work directly in FFmpeg.... Audacity uses it.

Thanks Abe, that is very good of you. BTW, it is a PC - foolish of me not to mention it.
Some other resources that may be helpful:You can install the optional FFmpeg library to import and export a much larger range of audio formats including AC3, AMR(NB), M4A, MP4 and WMA (on Mac only, Audacity can import unprotected M4A, MP4 and MOV files without FFmpeg).
