Hi Jeff, glad your having fun.
It is easy to get confused here as everyone has their opinions, etc...
Experimentation is encouraged as a learning mechanism. However if you use it as intended as background music for your bedroom you got it all setup and working already as it should.
Good luck, and godspeed to you.
Follow Ups:
It was nice to pass it on, as I was able to give Abe the gift of Tidal.
Ok, it sounds like I just need to get the drive and build a cabinet.
I am thinking about adding a power switch inline with the transformer/power supply.
For anyone who read the above, I don't need a DAC, I thought the Hifiberry was an input converter, and maybe improved sound. Like I said, I am basing my understanding of a finished product, that supposedly competes with other commercial players on the Bryston Pi.
Running Rune Audio Linux 0.4 beta, hifi Berry Digi plus pro.In terms of trying to one up Bryson, I doubt it is worth it to even try. You could hack something but it probably wouldn't be as good.
I rarely use my hifi Berry rpi setup after fiddling with it. It does sound very good though, at least to me. The digi plus pro works with a limited set of distros out of the box, and I stress out of the box. People here are nuts. No offense to anyone.
