So, what kind of internet do I have?Cut-Throat
Follow Ups:
Type this inside of a Google Search field in your browser (w/o the quotes):"convert 126 megabits per second to megabytes per second"
You're getting about 15MB/Sec on downloads
Or just take 126 Mega-bits/sec and divide by 8-bits = 15 Mega-bytes/sec

about 10 megabytes per second
How did you arrive at that ?

check out this calculator

Right..... I didn't catch that you started talking Bytes instead of Bits.

The kind of standard these days for big city cable connections is guaranteed 100 Mb per second download. I have that and it gives me solid 110 Mb per second consistently and I am pretty sure that's what you have. Upload speeds are often considerably lower, not always though. Gbit speed is 10 times that and not available too many places, not where I live. I doubt I would even care myself, since 1 Gbyte file comes in in about 90 seconds.
With three amazon Alexa (echo) servants on a 35/35mbps my bandwidth collapsed. This should help that, figure they need 50mbps up/down for the three of them. Then 950mbps up and down for everything else, I don't know anyone in their right mind who needs this that's why I think I just am completely nuts. Cool thing it is about $100 a month for this, after contract is over it will be $200 a month. Not bad and no caps. Considering I spend most of my time on YouTube and email it is just excess debauchery at this point, but nice to have so why not at this point I have said to myself. Now I am on par here with what Japan and South Korea had for decades.
Your data rates up/down for your devices don't make a lot of sense to me. These devices don't consume THAT MUCH bandwidth and I can't imagine them all being used SIMULTANEOUSLY to hit those numbers in aggregate. But if I could get Gigabit internet in my area, I surely would. Lucky dog! ;-)

thanks for the warm regards,
I'll update as soon as I can regarding this. I believe some others here also have gigabit already.
Our incompetent 'phone company' was advertising Gigabit internet with a slogan that read something like 'imagine what you can do with Gigabit internet'. The problem was, one could only imagine because no one could get that service! I suppose if you lived next door to one of their central offices you might but that's about it.
I'm pretty close to one of the central offices, it is really neat to get this.
It is $100 for the first year, then $200 the second year (a month), then it might go up/down in terms of money or whatever maybe even faster connection :)
I don't have access to Internet 2, but that's supposed to be cool too, I had a friend who had access to it in college. Right now it is being used mostly for science. Which is understandable.
If I had the chance I'd do it too. There is never too much speed. A Gbyte in just over a minute seems pretty negligible, but a few seconds would be even better.
I think I was reading something along the lines of 850mbps upload.
